We are thrilled to announce that the Blu-ray/CD package of A Slight Departure (Expanded Edition) is now officially released to the world at large!
In addition to the original CD, the new package includes a Blu-ray disc with the entire album in hi-resolution stereo, and 5.1 Surround Sound. Additionally, there are instrumental mixes in hi-resolution stereo, and over an hour of bonus video material – three innovative music videos for “Never To Part,” “Devil’s Stomping Ground,” and “The Great Escape,” as well as a 40-minute feature, The Detailed Itinerary, with Alan discussing the creation and recording of each song on the album, including illuminating behind-the-scenes glimpses of the recording process.
The audiophile community is already responding to the high quality of the audio, and the heightened experience of the music in surround sound. Alan always conceived the album as a surround sound project, so even if you’re already familiar with the music, the surround mixes are the definitive realization of his songs, and the band’s performances.
